To catch the interest of visitors, Screen Media Expo picked the theme this year of “convergence”. Organisers say that the 2011 event is evolving beyond just digital signage and DOOH to become the European forum for all digital placed-based media technologies and applications.

In keeping with the convergence theme, Navaho have created their own QR code. QR codes are becoming increasingly popular for storing digital data like web addresses. Smart phones have embraced this technology now with free Apps that require its user to just hold up their phone to the image and be sent straight to the intended information.

Navaho were proud to announce a public preview at Screen Media Expo of their MediaCAT Mobile Interface. Available in the next major release you will now be able to control your MediaCAT via your preferred mobile device of which includes the Apple™ iPhone & iPad

Last week's annual ALBUM conference hosted by Reading Bus and Thamesdown Transport took place at the idylic De Vere Wokefield Park near Reading.

The conference took place over a two day period starting 17th May with the main event preceded by the annual Golf Competition organised and hosted by the Optare Group and closing the conference with a lavish Gala Dinner.

This year followed a strong theme throughout the conference of "empowering our people". Various presentatons were made over the course of the two-day event to reflect and re-inforce this message to all delegates and traders alike.

Navaho were again in attendance and exhibiting at ALBUM with their Digital Signage MediaCAT automotive solution. Demonstrating how their Real-Time Passenger displays are currently being used within the Bus industry and how best to implement the system to potential users. Following the success of last year's event, Navaho once again provided ALBUM with digital information and wayfinding display screens in and around the conference, detailing itineraries and navigating delegates over the course of the event.

The Association of Local Bus Company Managers was formed on the 8th October 1984. The objective of ALBUM is a networking opportunity and is highly appreciated by manufacturers and suppliers who support the conference.

International Confex 2011 held at Earls Court last week proved another success for Navaho Technologies and their digital signage product, MediaCAT. Navaho Technologies exhibited within the logistics area of the show. Visitors were be able to browse the Logistics area to source products and services from leading suppliers in the events industry for indoor and outdoor events. It was the ultimate one stop shop for all things 'logistics' for exhibitions/conferences.

Folowing the success of last years' event, the Confex team requested that Navaho's MediaCAT would power information screens throughout Earls Court as a replacement for the traditional "you are here" boards used on previous years. Large screens welcomed visitors and exhibitors displaying MediaCAT's unique wayfinding solution along with important information in relation to the show from the event's floorplan and exhibitor listing to live announcements of all seminars and other activites over the course of the three day event.

 Navaho also provided Confex with a number of interactive touch-screen kiosks surrounding this year's show highlight, the Media 10 Marina Floating Bar. The kiosks proved a vital source of information in relation to the  event and visitors were able to interact at their leisure.

A further highlight of the show for Navaho included The International Confex Awards. The awards recognise the people, the products and the event service solutions that make International Confex the premiere event in the UK. The awards are judged by an independent panel of industry editors during the first two days of the show. Navaho are extremely pleased and proud to announce they won the Confex Award 2011 for "Best Space Only Stand within Logistics" for their use of technology within their exhibitor stand.
